Busy Bumblebee

Since my last post, published on January 13, I have written six articles. Not bad! Especially when you consider I took two days off to relax. Sometimes you just need a detox from the internet.

I did manage to binge watch Arrow on Netflix and caught up with the other episodes from their website. I was able to watch the midseason premiere on Wednesday.

With that said I will be taking a short ski/snowboard trip on Monday/Tuesday. I’ve only snowboarded once before and it was a few years ago. Please pray that I don’t write a post about a broken bone.

And finally, you can check out those articles on my Featured Publications tab. It’s right there up at the top, or if you click here it will take you as well. I’m really proud of the work I’ve been producing as of late.

The baby I have been working on is PUBLISHED!

I had been quite cryptic in my past few posts about a project I have been working on. Now that it has been published, I am sharing it with you here.

In December I attended a local comic convention and met a comic industry creator who I hit it off with. He was fantastic to talk to and gave me great advice. I emailed him after and the product of those emails is the work I will have on his comic creator news website.

My first article has been published – today actually. I interviewed Ram Devineni, the comic book creator of Priya’s Shakti. Priya’s Shakti is a comic book tackling the pervasive rape culture in India, but it’s anti-sexual assault message transcends borders and is a message for the whole world.

Please take your time to read this, I worked so hard and Mr. Devineni was an amazing person to interview!

Hello Weekend! Big changes!

It is now the second weekend in the new year and things are churning for me. If you noticed, I’ve re-designed the whole site. I love this theme, I find it mature, un-cluttered, as wells simplistic. The best part is it doesn’t reduce anything stylistically. My sidebar tabs are now located at the top and I even added a little site logo that pops up in your search bar or tab. I don’t have a logo made for myself yet, so I just used a picture of my cat to greet you!

There will be some minor changes over the next few weeks after I go into the CSS and update some codes such as coloring and whatnot.

I’ve also added a new publication to my Feature Publications 2015 page. From now it will be updated pretty regularly so please keep checking back.

And here is an adorable cat compilation video for you to enjoy:

Happy New Year (A week late)

I’ve been doing lots of things in the new year. Revamped my resume, tinkered on this site and have ben conducting interviews. I’m a busy lady.

As you know there is now a ‘Featured Publications’ tab on the sidebar. Pretty soon I will consolidate the other years pages to clear up some clutter. I will also be changing the layout soon.

If you give a peek on the ‘Featured Publications 2015’ tab you can see my first published article of the year, a recap and review of Marvel’s Agent Carter.

Hope your new year has so far been happy and healthy and I cannot wait to show you more of my work.

Updates

As you see below I have posted a picture of my bio. This bio is taken from the Geek Chic Elite, where I have been contributing articles to for a few weeks now. Since NaNo has been over my mind has been teeming with article and story ideas. I look forward to writing and have been getting really grumpy when I am pulled away from it.

This isn’t the only thing I have been working on. I attended NY Winter Con a week ago and made a really awesome contact there. You will be seeing updates from me soon on that front but for now I will keep it as a secret!

Hope you are all doing well during this crazy holiday season!

NaNo is over!

NaNoWriMo concluded a few days ago and I have been sullying around my house with the equivalency to a hangover. A writing hangover.

Those kinds of hangovers are not easily cured, and time doesn’t necessarily erase the mushy feeling. When you do something like NaNo or take on any big writing project, there is an emotional bond that forms between you and your writing. You drag your soul out onto paper. And in the end you are left emotional drained, physically fatigued, and mentally a bit jumbled up.

I’m starting to get back into the swing of things. I’ve decorated the house for Christmas, baked cookies, and have only begun compiling my thoughts on the direction of my story. You see, 50,000 words is a lot, but typically it is considered a novella, not full on novel length.

It is almost time to crack open the Word document and dive back into my art. But for today at least, I will enjoy the tranquil solace of living outside of the bubble.

Oh, and P.S. – LOOK WHO FIXED HER LAYOUT, PICTURES ARE WORKING AGAIN!

Le Sigh

So, I’ve been quiet on here as I’m trying to address an issue I’ve been having with the site. I mentioned before about my issue. I asked my brother for his advice since he helps keep my website tuned up and apparently when we installed a security update it voided all my photos. ALL. I can see my photos on the back end, but they no longer appear on what you see.

I am still trying to configure the settings to allow them to be viewed but alas, it is difficult.

So in the next coming weeks please be advised that my blog will look rather bare. I really hope I can get the photos on my older posts working.

If you have any tips or troubleshooting, please let me know.

New content!

Take a gander at my new sidebar for my current writing projects. I should be adding more links to it in the coming weeks.

Featured Publications 2014

I just added my review for Disney/Marvel’s Big Hero 6!

And a brief update on my NaNo: I’m 7k in so far. I’m slightly under pace right now but I’ve been working through some tough plot points and now have a clearer direction on where my story is headed.

Happy NaNo!

It is November 1st which means it is NaNoWriMo season. I wrote a little over 300 words in the first hour and then went to bed. I just fired up my Word document to get started again. My personal goal is to reach 3,000 words today.

I’m also pantsing it. Pantsing is a term NaNoers use to describe when you didn’t pre-plan your novel. Last year I did extensive planning, and I won. This year I haven’t and I still hope to win. It looks like I will be going through a lot of coffee this month. If anyone has stocks in coffee you should look into a big payout at the end of the month.

So to my fellow NaNoers- Good luck!

And to all my readers – please wish me luck!
